Anohni - singer - visual artist & Oscam "Centering Black and Brown women as visionaries of abundance"

How I came across this song? (It appearded to by someone I had seen before. The artist Anhoni.) Via OSCAM. It is a OSCAM is a gallery in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost. Between 6 march and 6 may there was a exabition called Watering the Black Garden. The song of Anohni was one the suggested playlist of the artists. This play list was added to the exhibition. Below a quote out of the exhibition anouncement. There is also a book list added, which I hope to write about in next blog as soon as I have read something (that striked me).

Quote: Watering a Black Garden is a group exhibition organized by OSCAM and ARTNOIR that reimagines joy as a radical practice of tending and becoming. Centering Black and Brown women as visionaries of abundance, the exhibition frames joy as an intentional act of care within Black femme experiences.

OSCAM worked together with ARTNOIR. ARTNOIR is a New York - based cultural platform supporting artists of color.

Just some of my thoughts seeing and hearing two of Ahoni's music video clips:

Again Gendermore, just because it is honest, or closer to the truth of these days. What was once unambigious is now fluent. So is our nature, disturbed more and more. Don't get me wrong. This is not disturbed at all, we are all disturbed. There is no pure form of mariage, of man and wife, so do not judge the expression of some soul that feels something is wrong or something is honest. You are not much of a man if you dont feel. You are not much of a woman if you lost your selfawareness. It got lost trough time. So lets remember.......our best self and from Who we got this strengt from.

What I learned and makes sence to me:

Funy fact. Vishnu. A symbol. A man is just as perfect as A woman. Both have there role, but if they had the other role, they would do it just as perfect. We are a soul. This body is just a role we play. If I forget who I am, I indentify to much with this body. Things change. That's how this Play is written. There is no reason to the why. Although maybe we have to learn from seeing things. There is a cycle of summer and winter. What are the sparkles of summer in winter? They tell us we are goning home again and the world will be new again. Like spring.
